Xiaomi 13 Ultra officially confirmed to launch this month with Leica's "most perfect" Summicron lens
After months of rumors and leaks, it appears the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is finally at hand. While the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro debuted months ago as flagship phones in their own rights, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be Xiaomi's range-topping smartphone for the year, and the company has now officially teased it for the first time.
Taking to its Weibo handle, Xiaomi has now confirmed the imminent release of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, with the flagship set to debut later this month:
"This time, we bring together the latest optical system solution for mobile imaging that has never been seen before, and Leica’s most perfect Summicron lens in the field of mobile imaging so far," both companies shared in a joint statement. "Different mobile phone lenses from wide-angle to telephoto have achieved consistent excellent optical capabilities for the first time. This series of epoch-making technologies will be equipped with the new #13Ultra# launched globally, which will be released this month."
That statement reveals three important details: continued collaboration with Leica across the main and zoom cameras, the use of Leica's "most perfect" Summicron lens, and confirmation that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will launch globally. According to Xiaomi, the flagship will debut across the globe this month and will become widely available in the coming months.
Marking another milestone for the strategic cooperation between Xiaomi and @leica_camera, and the mobile photography world.
