Xiaomi 14 Ultra: First hands-on images reveal the global Leica camera flagship in testing
Exciting tidbits from China this weekend: Images of a supposed Xiaomi 14 Ultra prototype were posted for the first time on Coolapk (now deleted), which appears to be in a camera-covering protective packaging, but still gives some early insights into the successor to the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. The images below likely stem from an earlier camera test where some comparisons were also made with the Xiaomi 14 Pro and the Vivo X100 Pro. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra also appears to be visible in one of the photos.
The information on the white label on the back is also interesting. 'N1' confirms the assumption that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is actually behind the protective cover; after all, this abbreviation is the model number for the upcoming Leica flagship. 'P2', in turn, denotes a prototype and not the final version of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, as Xiaomiui explains. Last but not least, 'EU' indicates a global version for Europe, with the language in the camera app being Chinese.
The images only allow indirect conclusions to be drawn about the camera design itself. A round camera module is again expected, and the arrangement of the four lenses does not seem to have changed much. Once again, periscope optics can be seen on the lower right side. Overall, the quad cam seems a little larger than its predecessor, but there are still no details about its dimensions. Only recently did rumors emerge that a new 1-inch sensor would be debuting in the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, and that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 would also be inside.
