Xiaomi: New iteration of the Watch S3 includes GNSS module and cellular modem
Xiaomi has a new smartwatch on offer. This is not an entirely new model, but rather a special edition of the Xiaomi Watch S3, which the company is using to mark the announcement or release of its first own electric car. The Xiaomi Watch S3 SU7 differs from previously released models of the smartwatch in terms of design.
The olive green version comes with a bezel in the corresponding color and a silicone strap. The ceramic bezel promises good protection against scratches that can occur in daily use. Like the other models of the Xiaomi Watch S3, the watch is also equipped with a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen, which boasts a pixel density of 326 PPI. The maximum brightness is 600 cd/m².
The other features also conform to high standards. The Xiaomi Watch S3 SU7 is equipped with an independent GNSS module and a cellular modem, which further reduces dependency on a paired smartphone. Xiaomi uses HyperOS as the operating system, which is an in-house development. Heart rate and activity levels can be recorded, as well as stress levels. The tracking of sleep quality and duration is also possible.
The Xiaomi Watch 3S SU7 has been launched in China for the equivalent of around $155. A release of the special edition in other markets seems unlikely.
