OnePlus Watch 2 rumoured to be launching during MWC 2024 running Wear OS 4
Max Jambor has revealed new information on the whereabouts of a second-generation OnePlus Watch two months after the smartwatch's last leak. To recap, Jambor first mentioned the OnePlus Watch 2 in October in the following terms:
A month later, OnLeaks and MySmartPrice shared numerous details about said smartwatch, including that it would run Wear OS, presumably Wear OS 4. For reference, Wear OS would arrive in place of OnePlus' current solution, a real-time operating system (RTOS) equivalent that underpins the OnePlus Watch. Accordingly, the pair claimed that the OnePlus Watch 2 would utilise a powerful chipset to match, with the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 from the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro and Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 5 on hand.
While Jambor did not name the smartwatch directly, he has since done so in his latest tweet. Supposedly, OnePlus has earmarked Mobile World Congress (MWC) to unveil the Watch 2, which will run between February 26 and February 29 this year in Barcelona. Surprisingly, this means that OnePlus will give its first Wear OS smartwatch equal billing with the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R, which it will showcase globally on January 23.
OnePlus Watch 2 is launching at Mobile World Congress! Looking forward to the next WearOS Watch!
