OnePlus already projects that its second-gen Watch will have the best battery life in the industry on its imminent launch. Now, the FCC has revealed some of the actual stats on which that boast is made.
This new and potentially definitive leak specifies a battery that does indeed have a relatively large capacity: 500mAh, larger than that of the biggest Samsung Galaxy Watch6 variant at 425mAh, and even outdoing the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro at 495mAh.
The new leak reveals its model number as BLW013, whereas the wearable as a whole is the OPWWE231, all but confirmed as the Watch 2 in its new certification through the signature asymmetrical footprint depicted in some of its schematics.
On that note, they seem to indicate a lack of wireless charging for the Watch 2 - on the other hand, its custom cradle (the OPPO AK903HK) goes at the appreciable (for wearables) rate of 10W (5V/2A), according to an additional leak from TÜV Rheinland.
Finally, the FCC also approves the Watch 2 to use Bluetooth, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi and GPS in the US. Then again, OnePlus fans may have to wait until its late February 2024 debut for other crucial details, such as whether it runs Wear OS or not.
