Oppo Watch X announced outside China with late February release confirmed
OnePlus will officially present the Watch 2 in a few days, its first Wear OS smartwatch. Now its parent company Oppo has confirmed intentions to do so the same, as the screenshot below shows. Dubbed the 'Watch X', the smartwatch appears to be arriving in two finishes, both with silicone watch bands.
Inescapably, the Oppo Watch X looks like the spitting image of the OnePlus Watch 2. As far as we can tell, the pair rely upon identical designs, with no discernable differences between the pair on first inspection. Accordingly, the Oppo Watch X has a flat circular display and a metallic chassis that extends past the hardware buttons with which Oppo has adorned its right-hand side. Currently, Oppo has only teased the Watch X through its Malaysian Twitter account, with no mention of the smartwatch on its global or European equivalents.
Thus, it seems that the Watch X could serve some markets where Oppo has a bigger presence than OnePlus and vice versa. Either way, Oppo will present the Watch X on February 29, which is also presumably when it will outline full availability details. In the meantime, various sources have shared promotional and hands-on images of Oppo's latest Wear OS smartwatch. While they do not provide any technical specifications about the Watch X, the hands-on photos reveal what the smartwatch will actually look like, examples of which we have embedded below.
