Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro fitness tracker makes global debut with an attractive price tag
Xiaomi Smart Band 8 has finally been unveiled for the international markets. When it launched in China, we noted that the smart fitness smartwatch offered many features for the price. The same applies to the global debut, as the price tag for the international markets is still within the affordable range.
More specifically, the Chinese launch price for the fitness tracker is around $62, while the global launch price is EUR69 (around $74). As for the features, one of the standouts is the large-sized AMOLED screen. This 1.74-inch display of the Smart Band 8 Pro comes with a resolution of 336 x 480 pixels and has a 60 Hz refresh rate.
To offer peace of mind when you’re wearing the fitness tracker, Xiaomi equipped the Smart Band 8 Pro with Gorilla Glass Victus front glass. Its durability rating is further enhanced with 5 ATM water resistance certification.
When it comes to build quality, the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro has a metallic frame that gives the smartwatch a premium outlook. The fitness tracker is reasonably thin and light too. It measures 9.9 mm in thickness and weighs only 22.5 grams, making it comfortable for all-day wear.
Speaking of all-day wear, the Smart Band 8 Pro has a 23% bigger battery capacity than its predecessor (curr. $73.51 on Amazon). Xiaomi says that it can offer up to 14 days of runtime with typical usage. There are also a good number of customization options for the fitness tracker, including more than 200 watch faces and multiple strap choices.
Regarding health monitoring, the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro has a new 4-channel heart rate monitoring module. Combined with other sensors, the smartwatch can offer real-time health data. It doesn’t back down on fitness either. There are more than 150 sports modes and built-in GNSS positioning for tracking outdoor activities.
One thing to note, however, is that Xiaomi hasn’t mentioned anything about the NFC payment feature in the global variant, but it was available in the Chinese variant.
