The Xiaomi 14 Ultra has now arrived globally, only a few days after its Chinese debut. As far as we can tell, Xiaomi has distinguished the global model from its Chinese counterpart in a few areas. For one, the global model supports additional cellular bands, including LTE Band 20 that is used across the EU and UK. Additionally, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will not be available globally in blue or with 1 TB of storage, as is the case in China.
Arguably, the biggest change relates to the device's battery capacity, which drops from 5,300 mAh to 5,000 mAh for the global model. Officially, Xiaomi has not explained the change. Nonetheless, its decision to omit any mention in its press release of the silicon-carbon technology advertised in China implies that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is sporting a conventional lithium-ion battery for its global release.
All hardware details that we covered in our original Xiaomi 14 Ultra launch article appear unchanged though, including quad 50 MP cameras and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra goes on sale today on Mi.com for €1,499.90 with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage in black and white vegan leather finishes. However, the handset will not reach third-party retailers until March 19. In the meantime, Xiaomi will include a Photography Kit with pre-orders placed before March 18. Please see our dedicated launch article for more details about the Photography Kit and what it brings to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
