Xiaomi 14 Ultra vs Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra: Xiaomi flagship performs better and runs cooler in gaming tests
Xiaomi's latest and greatest flagship smartphone yet, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, debuted globally earlier this week. The premium device has now been put through a series of gaming tests, with results showing better performance than its close rival, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
As tested by Chinese media outlet WhyLab, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra managed an average of 55.65 FPS on Genshin Impact, with an average power consumption of 4.948 W and a max rear temperature of 44.4°C. Comparatively, the Galaxy S24 Ultra averaged a framerate of 53.58 FPS while running at the same 720P resolution as the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Weirdly, it performed worse and also consumed more power at the same time, with an average power consumption of 5.586 W, and also ran hotter with a rear max temperature of 45.5°C.
Those numbers are consistent across other games as well, with the Galaxy S24 Ultra typically running hotter and requiring more power than the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. That said, the Xiaomi flagship isn't the gold standard for gaming either, as it's routinely outperformed by devices like the OPPO Find X7 Ultra, Vivo X100 Pro, and Honor Magic6 Pro on the same tests.
