DxOMark has published its camera test results of the Xiaomi 14. With an overall score of 138, the flagship Android smartphone has ranked 3rd in the premium segment, which consists of phones that are priced from $600 to $800.

Launched late last year, the Xiaomi 14 made its global debut last month. With that, we’ve started to see more reviews and test results of the Android flagship. One of the newly published evaluations comes from DxOMark, which has ranked the smartphone according to its camera capabilities.

Although the device got 28th place in the global ranking, it did really well in the premium smartphone segment. This DxOMark ranking segment consists of phones that are priced between $600 and $800, and the Xiaomi 14 has secured 3rd spot on it. The phone’s overall score from the test results stands at 138. In comparison, the first phone in the segment, which is the Google Pixel 8 (available on Amazon), got an overall score of 148.

As for the score breakdown, the Xiaomi 14 got 137 points in Photo, 55 in Bokeh, 73 in Preview, 134 in Zoom, and 138 in Video. The highest points for each of these sub-scores are 160, 80, 91, 158, and 158, respectively. DxOMark has also scored the smartphone camera according to use cases and conditions.

According to the tests from DxOMark, the Xiaomi 14 performs the best when capturing portrait and group photos and videos. It does well in outdoor, indoor, and lowlight photography too. The camera benchmarking lab also notes that the phone offered “accurate target exposure” in all the tested conditions with a “fairly neutral white balance.”

In addition to highlighting the good aspects, the lab has noted the areas where the Xiaomi 14’s camera setup lags behind. One of them is issues related to exposure adaptation, which the smartphone has outputted in “most tested conditions.”

DxOMark also noticed “low contrast on faces” in bright lights and backlit conditions. You can read everything about the test results from this link, and to learn more about the smartphone, you can read our in-depth review found in this link.
