Xiaomi 15 series tipped to be more expensive than the Xiaomi 14 lineup

Early details of the Xiaomi 15 Pro leaked a while ago, hinting at Xiaomi's plans to equip the phone with new cameras and a slew of other upgrades. According to a new leak, however, those upgrades may well come at an extra cost to buyers.

As revealed by Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 15 series has a "high probability" of being more expensive than the devices they replace. Likely, the vanilla Xiaomi 15 and the Xiaomi 15 Pro will launch with higher price tags than the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro respectively.

The Xiaomi 15 series is unlikely to make its debut in China till October or November at the earliest, so it's a tad early to take pricing-related leaks as concrete. That said, though, a price increase for the Xiaomi 15 series on the global market would likely not be well-received, with the Xiaomi 14 series already being priced higher than Samsung's Galaxy S24 series. The 256 GB Xiaomi 14, for example, costs €999, while a similarly equipped Galaxy S24 is priced at €959.
