Early Xiaomi 15 Pro details surface in the wild
After releasing the Xiaomi 14 series across the globe last week, Xiaomi already appears to have the next generation of its mainstream flagship phones on the cards, with a new leak now revealing some early details of the Xiaomi 15 Pro.
According to Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is said to be working on an ultrasonic fingerprint reader for the entire Xiaomi 15 series. Earlier rumors claimed the Xiaomi 14 Ultra would be the first Xiaomi device to offer an ultrasonic sensor, but that failed to materialize, as the Xiaomi 14 Ultra eventually launched with an optical-type sensor instead. Supposedly, that will change with the Xiaomi 15 series, with the leaker indicating new hardware for both the vanilla Xiaomi 15 and the middle-child Xiaomi 15 Pro.
Reportedly, Xiaomi is set to equip the Xiaomi 15 Pro with a 1-inch main camera. The company ditched the 1-inch sensor on the Xiaomi 13 Pro in favor of the 1/1.31-inch LYT900 for the Xiaomi 14 Pro, but new leaks claim the Xiaomi 15 Pro will come equipped with a 1-inch 50 MP OV50K as its main camera. That sensor is said to be joined by the 1/2.76-inch 50 MP JN1 as the ultra-wide snapper, and the 1/2-inch OV64B beneath a periscope telephoto lens. In addition, Xiaomi's collaboration with Leica will apparently continue on the Xiaomi 15 series.
The Xiaomi 15 series is expected to enter mass production in September, and debut in China a month later with Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in tow.
