Dell UltraSharp 34 Curved Thunderbolt Hub Monitor arrives globally with immediate price reduction
Dell has quietly released the U3425WE, or UltraSharp 34 Curved Thunderbolt Hub Monitor to give it its long name. Presented in early January alongside the U4025QW, the U3425WE outputs at 3,440 x 1,440 pixels (WQHD) with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 8 ms response times. In other words, the monitor is more designed for office work than gaming, although its response times can be reduced to 5 ms with 'fast' mode enabled.
Additionally, Dell specifies 300 nits peak brightness and 98% coverages of the DCI-P3 and Display P3 colour spaces. Meanwhile, the U3425WE masters 100% of BT.709/sRGB and boasts Delta E <2 colour deviations. Furthermore, the monitor features an ambient light sensor that can automatically adjust brightness and colour temperature based on ambient lighting.
On top of that, the U3425WE has three video inputs, including Thunderbolt 4 with 90 W Power Delivery, as well as nine USB ports. The U3425WE is orderable now in the US for $819.99, a 19.6% reduction on the $1,019.99 pricing that Dell revealed before CES 2024. Alternatively, the monitor is available in the Eurozone for €988.89 and £878.40 in the UK; please see our launch article for more hardware details.
