MSI MAG 27CQ6PF: New gaming monitor announced for $189 with 180 Hz Rapid VA panel
MSI has introduced another gaming monitor, which it will soon sell as the MAG 27CQ6PF. For reference, the MAG 27CQ6PF arrives shortly after the MPG 271QRX QD-OLED, MPG 321URX QD-OLED and MAG 341CQP QD-OLED, all of which MSI began selling last month. While the MAG 27CQ6PF sits within the same series as the MAG 341CQP QD-OLED, it targets a different price point than the $949 that MSI charges for its 34-inch QD-OLED gaming monitor.
Specifically, MSI has listed the MAG 27CQ6PF for $189 in the US. In part, the MAG 27CQ6PF is cheaper than the MAG 341CQP QD-OLED because of its reliance on a Rapid VA panel, which is less expensive to produce than the QD-OLED equivalent in the MAG 341CQP QD-OLED. According to MSI, the MAG 27CQ6PF outputs natively at 2,560 x 1,440 pixels with a 180 Hz refresh rate and a 1500R curvature, as well 0.5 ms GtG response times and Adaptive Sync dynamic refresh rate technology.
Moreover, the monitor delivers 300 nits peak brightness, a 5,000:1 contrast ratio and 80% DCI-P3 colour space coverage. On top of that, the 10-bit colour panel comes with DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0b ports but not a USB hub to speak of. As far as we can tell, MSI has only revealed MAG 27CQ6PF launch pricing in the US, where it should be available from Best Buy or MSI directly. With that being said, MSI has listed the gaming monitor on other regional websites, including Germany. Thus, we imagine that the MAG 27CQ6PF will eventually receive a global release. Please see MSI's product listing for more hardware details.
