ViewSonic VX2781-4K-PRO-6 announced as 4K IGZO IPS monitor with 165 Hz refresh rate

ViewSonic has introduced the VX2781-4K-PRO-6, another 27-inch gaming monitor by the company after last month's release of the XG272-2K-OLED. While the latter features a 2.5K and 240 Hz OLED panle, ViewSonic is claiming a world's first with the former. Specifically, the VX2781-4K-PRO-6 is said to be the only example of a 4K IGZO (Indium gallium zinc oxide) and IPS panel that has a 165 Hz refresh rate.

According to ViewSonic's product page, the VX2781-4K-PRO-6 delivers 350 nits typical peak brightness with a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 98% DCI-P3 colour space coverage. Additionally, the monitor is VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified and delivers 1 ms GtG response times. On top of that, ViewSonic has included AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-SYNC support for mitigating image tearing with AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards.

Moreover, the VX2781-4K-PRO-6 finds itself with numerous ports, as the image below shows. On the one hand, the monitor has six USB ports split between a trio of Type-A connections, two Type-C ports that deliver 15 W and 96 W Power Delivery, plus a single USB Type-B port. On the other hand, ViewSonic has equipped the VX2781-4K-PRO-6 with one DisplayPort 1.4 connection and two HDMI 2.1 ports. As a result, the monitor can output at 4K and 165 Hz through any of its video inputs, including one of its Type-C ports. Unfortunately, pricing and availability for any market is unknown for now.
