Next Motorola flagship detailed with high-end cameras and updated design
Nearly a week has passed since Motorola began teasing the release of the Moto X50 Ultra. Although the company has not mentioned the device since, it hinted at a few details for its next flagship, details of which we have covered separately. Additionally, Android Headlines has leaked promotional images and specifications for the Edge 50 Pro, the presumed global version of the Moto X50 Ultra.
For reference, Motorola is also rumoured to be reviving its North American-specific branding. Thus, the Moto X50 Ultra is anticipated to arrive as the Edge Plus (2024) in North America. Somewhat unsurprisingly, Android Headlines claims that all versions of the device will ship with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which Motorola will complement with 12 GB of RAM.
The website asserts that Motorola's next flagship will feature a 6.7-inch and 165 Hz display too, which could well be the same panel from its predecessor. On top of that, the promotional images embedded below reveal a 50 MP primary camera with an f/1.4 aperture and optical image stabilisation (OIS). Furthermore, Motorola has equipped the handset with 13 mm ultra-wide-angle and 73 mm telephoto cameras, as well as a single front-facing camera.
Based on previous leaks, all devices will also contain 4,500 mAh batteries that support 125 W wired and 50 W wireless charging. Meanwhile, the same images show the date April 3, which Android Headlines has inferred is the release date for the Edge 50 Pro and Edge Plus (2024). However, that much remains unclear for the time being, with Motorola likely to introduce the Moto X50 Ultra first in China.
