OnePlus Nord 5: Premium charging specs all but confirmed in new leak
The OnePlus Nord 3 might be showing its age in terms of design; however, its upcoming successor is now expected to represent a radical departure from the double-barrelled rear camera look (if nothing else). Regardless, the device is also thought to offer much more besides the 'ugly Meizu 21' hot take that might be derived from its current leaks.
The "Nord 5" might succeed a device that still starts for €449 (~$491) in its target market of Europe, yet is thought to have the 100W wired charging as the flagship 12 (which starts at €949 (~$1,039)) for the same battery as the ~€699 (~765) 12R - OnePlus' "largest ever" at 5,500mAh in rated capacity.
Now, the 3C regulator has reportedly been spotted registering the device's model number - or rather, that of its theoretical Chinese-market version the Ace 3V - in a new leak that purports to confirm that it can indeed charge at up to 11 volts (V) and 9.1 amps (A) using one of the OEM's 12 series-grade VCBAOBCH power bricks for the purpose.
In addition, the allegedly 2x2,680mAh typical capacity 3V is now also apparently cleared to use the Universal Fast Charging Standard (UFCS) that might help it compete in China ahead of its potential re-brand as the Nord 5 for the international market.
