OnePlus Open, OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R all now official in Germany as part of OnePlus comeback

OnePlus has now returned to Germany, following last week's global release of the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R (curr. $599.99 on Amazon). To recap, both OnePlus and Oppo suspended sales there after a Regional Court upheld an IP infringement brought forth by Nokia relating to 5G technologies. Subsequently, both claimed that they would not be pulling out of any other European markets, although both did so unofficially in multiple cases.

Currently, the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R are now available to pre-order across the Eurozone without explanation, as is the OnePlus Open. However, the resolution of patent disputes between Oppo and Nokia appears to be the catalyst for OnePlus' European re-entry. In summary, Oppo have agreed to pay Nokia royalties across multiple years, including those that the former incurred during their dispute period.

Meanwhile, it seems that Oppo could be returning to Europe and the UK in some capacity. Despite never officially leaving countries other than Germany, Oppo effectively froze its UK presence with the Find X5 Pro and Find N2 Flip listed on its webshop until recently. Now, the company has reduced its portfolio to recent entry-level and mid-range handsets, including the Reno 10. Thus, we would not be surprised if today was the start of a European resurgence for Oppo, not just OnePlus.
