OnePlus 12 receives first major update with Hasselblad Master Mode and other improvements right at launch

After OnePlus unveiled its new flagship OnePlus 12 in China at the end of last year, the global launch followed just over a week ago. While Europe is currently still waiting for the official sales launch and only preorders are possible, the OnePlus 12 has already been received by the first users in India.

Users there report that OnePlus has already released a major update for the OnePlus 12. This carries the version number CPH2573_14.0.0.404(EX01) and brings a number of new features and improvements for the Android-based operating system Oxygen OS.

The most important new feature of Oxygen OS v14.0.0.404 is the addition of Hasselblad Master Mode. The manufacturer had advertised this feature at the presentation of the OnePlus 12, but apparently did not include it right away. The new Hasselblad Master Mode is an improved version of the Pro Mode in the camera app and replaces it. Hasselblad color tuning promises particularly natural-looking colors and precise skin tones. The mode also allows users to customize key features such as ISO, shutter speed, white balance and focus, as well as fine-tune contrast, saturation, sharpness and vignette before taking a photo. Hasselblad Master Mode also supports RAW shooting.

In addition to the new availability of ProXDR for the Google Photos app, the update also brings a number of improvements for system stability, the success rate of the fingerprint sensor, WiFi, Bluetooth and the NFC function.

Presumably, the OnePlus will provide (at least) Oxygen OS v14.0.0.404 when the OnePlus 12 is launched in Europe later this month. There, the OnePlus 12 is expected to start at EUR 949 ($1032).
