OPPO Find X7 and X7 Ultra reservations hit 1,000,000 mark
The new OnePlus 12 can very nearly be thought of as the Find X7 Ultra from twin brand OPPO (the 2 even have the same class-leading 6.82-inch OLED display) - just, of course, without the new top-end quad 50MP rear camera system, complete with cutting-edge 1-inch sensor and world-first dual periscope lenses.
However, the fact remains that, while the former is officially available in markets such as the US and Europe, the latter can only be gotten at via third-party vendors such as TradingShenzhen. However, OPPO's President of Overseas Marketing (Sales and Services) Billy Zhang has just dropped the strongest hint that the OEM's best camera features may no longer be Chinese-market exclusives.
The executive has taken to Twitter/X to share the news that "pre-bookings" for the Find X7 and X7 Ultra exceeded 1 million in number prior to the series' release. This success might hasten the integration of their tech, which "will only get better and better", "onto more devices" in the future.
As welcome as that announcement could be to fans of top-end mobile photography, it might not immediately seem all that relevant to its potentially worldwide audience. Nevertheless, it may also prove the best sign yet that the OEM's next-gen smartphone upgrades just might be ready to make a return to the global market, if not in the form of its own "Find X8" flagships, then perhaps in that of the one-day "OnePlus 13" - or maybe even the brand's second-gen foldable, the "Open 2".
