The OPPO Reno series could be said to be even better at drip-feeding upgrades than flagship iPhones, only deigning to debut with an updated take on the 10 Pro Plus' design and little actual novelty in 2023. To this end, its next generation is said to stick with curved 6.7-inch OLED displays for both its vanilla 12 and 12 Pro variants in 2024, said furthermore to revert to FHD+ resolutions even though the 11 series debuted with 1.5K panels in China.
On the other hand, the 12 Pro is now also believed to finally move on from the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and go with the Dimensity 9200 in 2024; furthermore, its vanilla sibling could even debut a whole new chipset.
Currently known only by the intriguing code-name 24M, this silicon could be the Max or Ultra version of the recently-launched 8300. The Reno12 and 12 Pro are also tipped to upgrade to dual 50MP rear cameras, 1 of which might have OIS, while the other might replace the 11-series' 32MP telephoto shooter with 2x zoom.
The Reno11-series devices had a second 32MP sensor: a front-facing "Ultra-Clear Selfie Camera". However, the 12 series is now backed to beat it with a new 50MP punch-hole shooter across the board.
For all that, the Reno12 is projected to start at around $499 with 12GB of RAM, whereas the 12 Pro might do the same for ~$799.
