Xiaomi Redmi K70 series launching later this month as Redmi K70E and MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra performance teased
There are only a few days left of November. Nonetheless, Xiaomi has confirmed that we will see the Redmi K70 series in some capacity before December rolls around. To recap, the company shared one Redmi K70-related teaser last month with a nod to one model utilising Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Now, it has reverted to what may well be the series' cheapest representative.
As the screenshots below show, Xiaomi has begun building hype for Redmi K60 replacements through the Redmi K70E, a follow-up to the Dimensity 8200-backed Redmi K60E. According to Xiaomi, its latest Redmi K 'E' smartphone will rely upon the Dimensity 8300 Ultra and not the standard Dimensity 8300 that MediaTek presented earlier today. With that being said, previous Dimensity 'Ultra' chipsets suggest that the Dimensity 8300 Ultra will share key fundamentals with its non-Ultra sibling; please see our Dimensity 8300 launch article for more details.
Allegedly, the Dimensity 8300 Ultra platform is 'in line' with the Dimensity 9300, but only in terms of TSMC's 4 nm manufacturing process and support for UFS 4.0 flash storage, as well as identical APU and ISP architectures. The Dimensity 8300 Ultra is no match for the Dimensity 9300 in AnTuTu V10 though, with its official 1,526,328-point score trailing the Dimensity 9300 by about 700,000 points.
