Redmi K70E: New details and hands-on footage of Xiaomi's first Redmi K70 smartphone surfaces before launch
Xiaomi is continuing to build excitement for the Redmi K70E, which it has billed as a sort of flagship replacement. As we have discussed previously, Xiaomi has already confirmed that a Dimensity 8300 Ultra chipset will be at the heart of the Redmi K70E. For context, the Dimensity 8300 Ultra appears to be a customised Dimensity 8300, the latter of which that MediaTek unveiled yesterday.
Now, Xiaomi has revealed that its first Redmi K70 series handset will feature a 5,500 mAh battery, complemented by 90 W wired charging capabilities. Additionally, Xiaomi boasts that the Redmi K70E has a 5,000 mm² stainless steel vapour chamber cooling system, which has helped early units achieve sustained performance under full load. Moreover, the same test video has outlined that the Redmi K70E relies upon Android 14 skinned with HyperOS, Xiaomi's replacement for MIUI.
Furthermore, the device is said to come with up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, as well 64 MP primary, 8 MP and 2 MP rear-facing cameras. Purportedly, Xiaomi has only optically stabilised (OIS) the Redmi K70E's primary camera, somewhat limiting the utility of its ultra-wide-angle sensor. Separately, Xiaomi has teased that the Redmi K70E also has an AMOLED panel outputting at 1.5K and 1,800 nits with 1,920 Hz PWM dimming and 12-bit colour support. An in-display fingerprint scanner will be present too, rather than a capacitive equivalent embedded within a power button. Unfortunately, it still remains to be seen when Xiaomi will announce the Redmi K70E and other Redmi K70 handsets, other than before the end of the month.
