The iPhone 16 Pro is tipped to launch with a battery designed to better prevent the risk of over-heating. Now, the leaker behind this claim is back with live images that purport to show the changes in question. The component has some things in common with current iPhone batteries, although it might have some work to do before it becomes part of a next-gen flagship smartphone.

Recently, the tipster Kosutami asserted that Apple would respond to what might be the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max' best-publicized bug following their launch with a fairly comprehensive thermal management overhaul - albeit for their 16-series successors.

The alleged changes have Apple resorting to measures such as new batteries with metallic shielding for its 2024 flagship smartphones. Now, the same leaker is back with images said to show the "early stage iPhone 16 Pro" component in question.

Like some pre-existing mobile Apple batteries, it is L-shaped; however, it does indeed drop the typical matte black exterior in favor of shiny silver metal. There is also a "redesigned connector" visible in some of the images.

Then again, there are no Apple logos in evidence as yet, which could have something to do with its alleged "prototype" status. Then again, that fails to explain its capacity as given: 3,335mAh.

That is a slight upgrade on the 15 Pro; nevertheless, it seems from this new rumor that Apple still has no intention of measuring up to some new Android flagships in that respect.
