Apple's iPhone 15 series release hasn't gone without issues. For the first time in years, the company's latest premium smartphones appear to have significant problems at launch, with the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max receiving criticism for their lack of durability, and propensity to overheat. It appears Apple will be tackling one of those issues at least, however.
As reported by David Phelan, Apple has apparently acknowledged the problem, following it up with a statement:
“We have identified a few conditions which can cause iPhone to run warmer than expected. The device may feel warmer during the first few days after setting up or restoring the device because of increased background activity. We have also found a bug in iOS 17 that is impacting some users and will be addressed in a software update. Another issue involves some recent updates to third-party apps that are causing them to overload the system. We’re working with these app developers on fixes that are in the process of rolling out.”
It's about as much of an official acknowledgment as Apple is ever going to provide, and owners of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will have to make do with the knowledge that Apple has plans to rectify the overheating issue in the near future. How effective those plans will end up being, is a different discussion, however.
