MagyarXiaomi Redmi Book 16 2024, Redmi Watch 4 and Redmi Buds 5 Pro all launching next week alongside Redmi K70 smartphones
Xiaomi has announced plans to expand next week's Redmi K70 launch event to beyond a set of new smartphones. For reference, the company has teased the Redmi K70E and Redmi K70 Pro for now with MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets, respectively. Additionally, it has confirmed that at least three other devices will be in attendance, excluding the presumed Redmi K70.
First up is the Redmi Book 16 2024, a refreshed gaming laptop that will feature a 47 W processor. Boasting three USB Type-A ports, one USB Type-C (likely Thunderbolt 4), HDMI, a 3.5 mm jack and a fingerprint scanner, the Redmi Book 16 (2024) could be the Xiaomi TM221 that surfaced on Geekbench a few days ago. To recap, the laptop appeared on the benchmarking platform with the Core i5-14500HX and Core i9-14900HX, a pair of Raptor Lake Refresh processors rather than Intel's upcoming Meteor Lake alternatives.
While Xiaomi is keeping most technical details under wraps for now, it has hinted that the laptop will launch for under CNY 5,000 (~US$700), underlining its mid-range credentials. Additionally, Xiaomi has previewed the Redmi Watch 4, so far only in two colour options but with five accompanying watch bands. With only the image below to go on for now, the Redmi Watch 4 resembles recent Apple Watch designs, such as the flat display and pronounced frame edges of the Watch Ultra series but a rounded frame like the Watch Series 9.
Moreover, the Redmi Watch 4 appears to rely upon a digital crown as its sole hardware button, plus replaceable watch straps for added customisation options. Rounding off the trio is the Redmi Buds 5 Pro, a more premium alternative to the Redmi Buds 5 that Xiaomi has previewed in black, white and blue finishes. Based on the image below, it looks like Xiaomi has distinguished the new Pro model from the regular Redmi Buds 5 with additional microphones, likely for improved noise cancellation, plus repositioned charging pins and a redesigned charging case. As with most Xiaomi releases, the Redmi Book 16 2024, Redmi Watch 4 and Redmi Buds 5 Pro will debut in China first before reaching other markets.
