It seems that Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Smart Band 8 Pro globally. Although initially introduced in mid-August, the Smart Band 8 Pro has been exclusively available in China since. However, reputable sources like The Tech Outlook and Gadgets & Wearables have unearthed evidence suggesting an impending global introduction for a Smart Band 7 Pro successor (curr. US$83.50 on Amazon).
As the screenshots below, the pair have noticed a new Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM Berhad) certification, where an unreleased Xiaomi smartwatch has made an appearance. The smartwatch bears the model number M2333B1, which the certification listing links to the 'Smart Band 8 Pro' marketing name. While the timeline for an international release remains unclear, the SIRIM Berhad certification underlines Xiaomi's intentions to expand Smart Band 8 Pro availability beyond its home market.
Presumably, Xiaomi will make no hardware changes from the version it currently sells in China. Thus, the global Smart Band 8 Pro should feature a 1.74-inch AMOLED display that delivers 600 nits peak brightness, a 60 Hz refresh rate and a 336 PPI. Additionally, the Smart Band 8 Pro integrates GNSS location services and is rated for up to 14 days of battery life on a single charge. In the meantime, Xiaomi is preparing to launch the Redmi Watch 4 alongside the Redmi K70 series in China, covered separately.
