Oppo Watch 4X with round face launching soon
A new Oppo smartwatch, the Watch 4X, has appeared in various filings, suggesting that the device could launch shortly. A filing at SIRIM Berhad, formerly known as the Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM), lists an Oppo device with model name OWWE231 or Watch 4X.
The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) in Singapore has provided a similar certification. Here, the OWWE231 is described as a watch with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC and GPS. Other details have yet to be officially provided for the wearable. A leak by @realMlgmXyysd on X (formerly Twitter) claims that the model, named here as the Watch 4 Round, has a circular display with a 466 x 466 px resolution. They also suggest that the gadget will have ECG functionality, as seen in the Oppo Watch 4 Pro, launched earlier this year.
Plus, the leak alleges that the wearable can track blood oxygen saturation, sleep quality, stress levels and workouts. Other supposed features include fist clench gestures, WeChat Pay and an eSIM. For context, an eSIM for LTE connectivity and NFC contactless payments were supported on the Watch 4 Pro. When and where the Oppo Watch 4X wearable will launch remains unclear, as does its price. You can buy the Oppo Watch 4 Pro in China for 2,299 yuan (~US$324).
