Oppo Pad Air2 to launch later this month as re-badged OnePlus Pad Go
Oppo has started teasing the Pad Air2, a tablet that looks like a few other BBK Electronics tablets, including the OnePlus Pad (curr. US$399.99 on Amazon). However, the Pad 2 served as Oppo's version of the OnePlus Pad. Thus, it would appear that the Pad Air 2 is a re-branded OnePlus Pad Go, which debuted last month in India.
For now, Oppo has only shared a handful of teasers on Weibo, embedded below. Still, the information that it has revealed so far indicates that the Pad Air2 is the OnePlus Pad Go in all but name. For example, Oppo has confirmed that the former will deliver a 2.4K resolution, which should correlate to 2,408 x 1,720 pixels. Additionally, Oppo claims that the Pad Air2 has a dedicated filter designed to reduce blue light levels by up to 60% compared to conventional LCD panels.
Given that Oppo has only discussed the Pad Air2 on Weibo, it seems that it will be another Chinese exclusive, mirroring the Pad 2. While Oppo is keeping some elements a secret for now, Evan Blass has published four images of the tablet in which its silver and grey colourways can be seen. In short, the Pad Air2 even matches the Pad Go's overarching design, save for OnePlus' typical black and grey colourways. Oppo will announce the Pad Air2 on November 23, presumably with a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset and an 8,000 mAh battery too, like the OnePlus Pad Go.
