As previously reported, OnePlus is gearing up to release its second-gen tablet, the OnePlus Pad 2, later in the year. There's a significant chance the tablet will be a rebadge of OPPO's upcoming Pad 3, details of which have now leaked.
According to a Weibo post by popular leaker Digital Chat Station, the OPPO Pad 3 is set to arrive with a 3K 144 Hz LCD. OPPO has equipped all of its tablets so far with LCDs, so the lack of an OLED is expected. The tablet is tipped to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which corroborates prior OnePlus Pad 2 leaks and is also a significant upgrade over the Dimensity 9000 on last year's OPPO Pad 2.
Lastly, the OPPO Pad 3 is mooted to feature up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage, and a 9500 mAh battery. All in all, it appears the OPPO Pad 3 will be a nominal upgrade over the OPPO Pad 2, with the only notable improvement being the jump to a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. We expect that to hold true for the OnePlus Pad 2—compared to the first-gen OnePlus Pad (buy on Amazon)—as well.
