OPPO's allegedly upcoming third-gen tablet is now rumored to land as the Pad3 Pro rather than the Pad3. It is said to owe its new moniker due to an upgrade to the fastest version possible of the flagship-grade Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor: something that can't be said for its pre-existing internationally-available sibling the OnePlus Pad 2.

The "OPPO Pad3" has been thought to launch as an exact replica of the OnePlus Pad 2 with different branding; however, according to the prodigious leaker Digital Chat Station, that is not exactly the case.

The Pad 2 currently disrupts the tablet scene on platforms such as Amazon as one of the few slates with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor normally reserved for up-to-date flagship Android smartphones. However, the Pad3 Pro is now projected to one-up it with the Leading Version of the same SoC.

Its fastest Cortex-X4 core is clocked at 3.4GHz, whereas that of the OnePlus Pad 2 is 3.3GHz. The Pad3 Pro might also have up to 16GB of RAM, 1TB of internal storage and ColorOS in place of OxygenOS as an Android skin.

On that note, Digital Chat Station now believes it will get the latest ColorOS 15 version as a software upgrade rather than run it out of the box. Then again, that detail might be an indication that the OPPO Pad3 Pro will be here sooner rather than later.
