Oppo has confirmed that the Pad 3 is on the way as a new version of the OEM's current flagship Android tablet. It is touted as ideal for reading or drawing with its "soft light" display, and as an ideal companion to the Oppo Pencil 2 digital stylus. The Pad 3 will debut later in 2024 alongside new, probably equally mid-range, smartphones.

The Pad 3 is officially about to become Oppo's latest Android tablet - although it has been relegated to the vanilla tier of its series by default thanks to the presence of its pre-existing Pro sibling. Nevertheless, Oppo claims to have taken over 98,000 reservations for the device in China thus far.

The OEM also hints that it will be attractive nonetheless with its new choice of colors: Sunshine Purple, Star Track Bright Silver Song or a Night Blue quite reminiscent of that of the new OnePlus 13 flagship smartphone.

It looks exactly like the Pad 3 Pro (available on Amazon, albeit as the OnePlus Pad 2) otherwise, thereby reinforcing speculation that it will be released as a Dimensity 8350-powered version of the same device.

On that note, Oppo has confirmed that the Pad 3 will have the same 144Hz 7:5 2.8K ReadFit display, although it is rated for 700 nits of HBM brightness as opposed to 900 in the 3 Pro.

The vanilla model can be reserved with 8 to 12GB of RAM and 128GB to 512GB of internal storage from now in China ahead of its formal launch alongside the Reno13 series of Android smartphones, an event thought to take place on November 25, 2024.
