Black Friday Deal | Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE drops to all-time low with $150 Amazon Black Friday discount

When we reviewed the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE, our verdict was that the 10.9-inch Android tablet makes all the right sacrifices and offers an impressively complete package for the price. Now, with a 33% discount during Amazon's Black Friday sales, the tablet's value proposition is even stronger, coming in at just $299.99, including the pressure-sensitive S Pen. 

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE is the Fan Edition, or slightly pared-down version of Samsung's Galaxy Tab S9 series flagship tablet. Despite this, the Galaxy Tab S9 FE makes very few significant compromises in terms of functionality. The biggest differences between the base model Tab S9 and the Tab S9 FE are the display — which has been “downgraded” to an IPS LCD — the use of a mid-range Exynos 1380 SoC, and the USB port, which is only USB 2.0 on the Tab FE.

The lack of USB 3.0 support is a bigger deal for some, since it limits the Galaxy Tab S9 FE to the built-in display. Despite this, though, the Galaxy Tab S9 FE can still make use of Samsung's DeX desktop mode and windowed multitasking features, making it a convincing laptop replacement for many use cases.

The other major change is the display, which is a 1440 × 2304 pixel IPS LCD running at 90 Hz. While it won't deliver the same inky blacks as the 2× AMOLED on the flagship S9, it's still a very respectable display.

In our review of the Galaxy Tab S9 FE, we found that the display was capable of over 700 nits of brightness. Meanwhile, colour accuracy and colour space coverage was also quite good with 96.7% coverage of the sRGB colour space and deltaE values of 2.1, making it acceptable for digital art and some moderate photo editing with the included S Pen.
