Black Friday Deal | Apple 9th-Gen iPad 10.9-inch drops to $199.99 in Best Buy Black Friday deal

The base-model Apple iPad is one of the best portable computing deals around, even at its regular price, often undercutting the likes of Samsung's Galaxy Tabs and other high-performance Android tablets. For Black Friday, however, the base-model 9th-Gen iPad 10.9-inch has been discounted at Best Buy by a whopping $130, bringing the price down to just $199.99. 

That discount, combined with an Apple Pencil, makes the iPad 10.9-inch a fantastic deal for a mobile note-taking or digital art machine. Granted, the Apple Pencil is an additional add-on that will run you $79 (with a $20 discount), but that still undercuts the value-oriented Samsung Galaxy S9 FE, which is currently discounted to $299.99 on Amazon. 

The iPad 10.9 features a 10.9-inch Retina (2160 × 1620) IPS LCD and Apple's A13 Bionic SoC paired to 3 GB of RAM. While those aren't high-performance specs to blow anyone away, they're certainly enough for a $200 tablet that will serve its owner best as a portable media machine or as a supplement to an existing Mac or even PC setup. The $130 Black Friday discount is active for both the 64 GB and 256 GB versions of the 9th-Gen iPad, but the storage upgrade is a slightly less tantalising deal, at $349.99 from Best Buy. It's also the last iPad with a physical home button, which could be either a pro or a con, depending on who you are. 

In our review of the 9th-Gen iPad 10.9-inch, we found the display to be plenty bright, clocking in at around 500 nits, with impressive colour accuracy and reasonable colour space coverage, to boot, at 97.7% coverage of the sRGB colour space.
