Apple’s strategy for its basic iPad must be working because here we are now with what is really the same iPad as last year and the year before but with some improved bits. And as uninteresting as that may be, I don’t think many people would complain. Furthermore, the entry-level model now comes with a much more usable 64GB of storage. The cynics would say that it’s still not a lot, but I think it’s sufficient for readers who intend to stream most of their content and who have much of their data in the cloud. Besides, if you require more storage, there’s the step-up model with 256GB. Lest we forget, this is Apple’s most basic iPad and I’d rather they keep prices down as much as possible.

Although Apple’s entry-level iPad hasn’t seen a design refresh in years, it also hasn't seen a price increase, and for $329, the ninth-generation iPad is a killer deal. It performs better than pricier Android competitors, has a nice display well-suited for work and play, and will receive OS updates for years to come. The 12MP front-facing camera and the addition of Center Stage are also welcome upgrades for people who are working (or just video chatting) from home. And while iPadOS 15 may not be a full-on replacement for macOS or Windows, it's Apple’s most capable tablet OS to date. That makes the base model iPad our Editors' Choice winner among Apple's current tablet lineup, as well as for sub-$500 tablets in general.

90% iPad 10.2 (2021) review: same old, same gold

The iPad mini is definitely more powerful and has that new design, plus it supports the much more thought-out second generation Apple Pencil, all for a $100 uptick in the price. But its small screen makes it a device for a person with very specific needs. The 10.2-inch screen of the basic iPad lends itself better for a wider range of use cases. The Lightning port is a hindrance, though. iPadOS supports external drives and a plethora of accessories — even audio interfaces. So, if you don’t have 3rd party accessories that came with some type of Lightning cable themselves, you may need to invest in a dongle or two. It’s also a bit weird that Apple wants to market these for school and kids, yet sticks to the boring Silver and Space Gray. Feels like a missed opportunity.

I think it’s safe to say that many were surprised last week when Apple started its “California Streaming” event by announcing not one, but two new iPads. I certainly didn’t see it coming. But that’s exactly what happened, Apple announced a long-awaited new iPad Mini and a new iPad. Let’s start with the exciting stuff. The iPad Mini. This is the sixth-generation iPad Mini and it’s one that we have been waiting for a long time. If you remember, the last time Apple announced a new iPad Mini was back in 2019.

100% Apple iPad 2021 review: still the best tablet for most people
Source: The Guardian English
The 10.2in iPad is still the best tablet for most people offering an unbeatable combination of value, performance, software and longevity. It’s not flash and it has some older technology, such as the lightning cable and wifi5, but its old design means accessories made for many previous models still fit. Doubling the storage to 64GB is welcome, the faster chip and better display too, but it is the Centre Stage auto-tracking video call camera that is a biggest upgrade and will be particularly useful.

The iPad 10.2 (2021) is this year’s best-value tablet from Apple. It’s faster than its predecessor, it’s easy to use and it features an upgraded selfie camera that makes video calling smoother than ever before. Other upgrades are incremental, such as the inclusion of True Tone technology that adjusts the display to suit your surroundings, but for those who want an affordable tablet and don’t need the most up-to-date technology, it’s a worthwhile purchase.

100% Apple iPad (9th generation, 2021) review
Source: Stuff TV English
Apple’s entry-level iPad remains one of the best tablets around, but an ever-stronger lineup of sibling iPads have put it in a somewhat odd position. This new 9th generation device is more powerful than ever, yet it’s clear that Apple will have to refresh its design over the next couple of years. The 2020 iPad Air and also-new 2021 iPad Mini binned the traditional Home button for a Touch ID sensor on the sleep/wake button and this arrangement will surely come to the entry-level device, too. It’s just a matter of when. So does the 2021 version of the entry-level iPad still make sense to buy? For many, it certainly does – we’ll get to that – so let’s firstly consider the design of the latest-gen tablet.

80% Apple iPad 10.2-inch review (9th Gen, 2021): Modern classic or ready for a rethink?
Source: Pocket Lint English
This is an iPad for those who just need a simple tablet that will enable them to surf the internet, watch streaming services, and do the occasional other stuff - such as connecting a keyboard via the Smart Connector to do some work -rather than try to be something more glamorous. It's looking dated in its ninth generation form, but despite being the no frills iPad, there's still enough appeal.

On to the iPad. This is the ninth generation iPad and it’s mainly a spec-bump update to last year’s 8th generation iPad. On the outside, nothing has really changed. The dimensions are the same, they weigh about the same, and they have the same buttons and ports in the same places. This means this iPad is the only tablet that Apple currently makes that uses the Lightning port. Support for accessories is also unchanged. So this iPad still only works with Apple’s first-generation Apple Pencil and there’s a Smart Connector that works with Apple’s Smart Keyboard.

80% Apple iPad 10.2-inch (9th Gen) review: small updates, still top value
Source: T3 English
This is still the best cheap tablet if you want something that can be a surprisingly powerful creative tool as well as a way to watch video and browse social media. What the iPad gives you over even cheaper tablets is headroom – it does all the basics perfectly, and then you also get into video editing, illustration, music-making and any number of other things in exactly the same apps that people run on the iPad Pro. It's a shame that it still doesn't offer proper stereo sound, considering how many people will use it to watch videos on – and better cameras would be nice too, so that it can be an even better creative tool for kids. And I'll certainly celebrate when the old Apple Pencil is finally replaced with the new version on this cheaper model. But if you can't live with these issues, then it's good to know that the iPad Air solves every single one of them. But if you can live with them and want a tablet that's excellent value for work or play, the iPad 10.2-inch should still be top of your list.

10.20":

0.487 kg:

This is pretty heavy for a smartphone. Usually, small tablets weigh as much.

Apple: Apple Inc. is an American multinational corporation which designs and manufactures consumer electronics and software products. Apple software includes the Mac OS X operating system but nowadays Macbooks are also able to run Windows. Apple has at least sporadically been considered the most valuable company in the world since 2011 and has consistently ranked among the Top 10 companies in the world.

In the laptop sector, Apple's market share was 9.3% in 2014 and 10.3% in 2016. The latter corresponds to the 5th place. In the smartphone segment, Apple achieved 15.3% in the first quarter of 2016, which means a market share loss when compared to the 18.3% in same quarter of the previous year.
Nevertheless, Apple ranked second place behind Samsung in both years.

There are tons of reviews on Apple laptops, smartphones and tablets. The ratings are significantly above-average (as of 2016).

86.79%: This is a good rating above average. Nevertheless you should not forget, that 10-15% of all notebook-models get a better rating.
