The Oppo Pad 3 has made its official debut in China. Coming with the new MediaTek Dimensity 8350, the Android tablet starts at CNY 2,099, which is around $290.

Oppo released the Pad 3 Pro in October this year, and now, it has introduced the non-Pro variant of the Android tablet. The main highlight of the new device is the Dimensity 8350, a new mid-range SoC by MediaTek that features an octa-core CPU configuration and has the Mali-G615 MC6 GPU.

While Oppo has yet to comment on the benchmark performance of the Dimensity 8350, a recent Geekbench listing of the Pad 3 suggests that the SoC will be competing against the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. In the new tablet, this MediaTek SoC is paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.

Besides the new MediaTek SoC, Oppo highlights that the Pad 3 has a 2.8K "soft light" screen that aims to offer a comfortable viewing experience. This display has proper stylus support, and the Android tablet is said to deliver a real pen-and-paper writing experience.

The 11.61-inch LCD display also has a peak brightness rating of 700 nits, and it supports a 144 Hz refresh rate, making it capable of offering smooth visuals. Powering the internals is a 9,520 mAh battery, slightly larger than the Pad 3 Pro. However, it retains the same 67W fast charging support (Anker Prime 67W curr. $35.99 on Amazon).

While the Oppo Pad 3 stands as an affordable Android tablet, it seems to come with a premium build. With a metal back, the device measures 6.29 mm thick and weighs 536 grams, both of which make it travel-friendly.

Speaking of which, the Pad 3 launched with a starting price of CNY 2,099 for the 8/128 GB configuration (about $290). The maxed-out variant costs CNY 3,099 (around $427). Oppo hasn't shared global launch plans yet, but the Android tablet could be rebranded as the OnePlus Pad 2 Go.
