Oppo has introduced some significant battery upgrades with its latest Find X8- and Reno13-series Android smartphones. However, their successors might be even better in this regard, with estimated capacities that go up by about 1,000mAh compared to the previous generation. However, their growth might come with a drawback.

The Find X8 and X8 Pro are Oppo's first flagship Android smartphones with capacities that go beyond the traditional 5,000mAh limit thanks to updated silicon-carbon technology that saves on space while maximizing capacity. Its second generation is now said to be even better.

According to the typically effective leaker, Oppo will have a choice of new batteries that smash the 6,000mAh barrier.

One apparently will have an impressive 6,285mAh in typical capacity - although it might be overshadowed by another at 6,850mAh. Furthermore, Oppo might round those values up to 6,410mAh and 7,000mAh respectively for marketing purposes.

They are apparently compatible with Oppo's 80W SuperVOOC wired charging - although their smaller (possibly compact handset-ready) 6,300mAh (in rated capacity, or 6,140mAh in typical terms) counterpart might be able to use the same 100W version as the new OnePlus 13.

Then again, these Oppo batteries of the potential near future have leaked without mention of wireless charging, which means they might miss out on the magnetic 50W standard developed for the Find X8 and Reno13 series.

That implies that their successors might have to sacrifice that brand-new feature for what might be class-leading battery life.
