Milwaukee Tool has just launched its M12 heated Toughshell jacket, which is packed with an abundance of high-tech features. Embedded in the jacket is Milwaukee's latest heating innovation, dubbed Hexon heat technology. According to Milwaukee, the hexagon shape of the embedded heating elements results in faster heat-up times and offers greater heating coverage throughout the jacket. Additionally, Milwaukee claims the jacket uses three times as much insulation as similar garments to increase heat retention even when working in freezing temperatures.
Controlling the heat levels is done with the companion app, and the jacket features high, medium, and low heating settings for all three heat zones. The heat zones consist of the chest, back, and pockets to provide maximum comfort. Milwaukee claims the jacket can provide up to 12 hours of heating when on the lowest setting. However, each additional heating level will effectively half the estimated run time. Thankfully, Milwuakees own M12 Redlithium 3.0 compact battery pack powers the jacket. This pack is the same battery pack standard that Milwaukee uses for all of its M12 tools, which means wearers will likely have multiple battery packs available. Alternatively, users can use the M12 Top-off power supply and charger combo to recharge the battery pack on the go.
The jacket's standard features include five zippered pockets, a 100% stretch polyester construction, and sizes from small to 3X. Normally, clothing with embedded tech requires special cleaning, but the M12 Toughshell Jacket is washer and dryer-safe. Those needing a high-tech jacket and having $199 to burn can find more information and product availability on the official Milwaukee page.
