Nubia Z60S Pro joins Nubia Z60 Ultra Leading Version in global release
The Z60S Pro is the cheaper of the two smartphones that Nubia has announced today, with the other being the Nubia Z60 Ultra Leading Version. Essentially, the former is an upgraded Z50S Pro rather than a lesser version of the Z60 Ultra (curr. $698 on Amazon). Not only does this comparison ring true for the Z60S Pro's design, but it is also true for much of its hardware.
Specifically, the Z60S Pro finds itself with a 6.8-inch AMOLED display that outputs at 120 Hz with a 1260p resolution and 1,200 ints peak brightness, just like its predecessor. Likewise, Nubia continues to include the same 8 MP (80 mm) telephoto, 16 MP (26 mm) front-facing and 50 MP (13 mm) ultra-wide-angle cameras. On top of that, it seems that the device features an identical 5,100 mAh battery that supports 80 W wired charging.
A few changes between the Z50S Pro and Z60S Pro exist, though. On the one hand, Nubia has switched to a Sony IMX906 sensor for the latter's primary camera, which it complements with a 35 mm equivalent focal length. With that being said, the new camera still outputs at 50 MP and has a smaller sensor size than the equivalent inside the Z50S Pro (1/1.56-inch vs. 1/1.49-inch).
On the other hand, Nubia equips the Z60S Pro with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which averages about 22% higher benchmark scores than the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 that powers the Z50S Pro. Incidentally, Nubia also advertises the former as supporting satellite communication, albeit only in China. While the Z60S Pro is now available to pre-order in multiple markets, devices will not begin shipping until August 12. For reference, full pricing and availability is as follows:
