Somehow, Android OEMs have let Nubia Z60 Ultra take the crown of being the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered smartphone to launch globally. Earlier today, Nubia introduced the Z60 Ultra in China, its debut Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered smartphone. Surprisingly, Nubia has also introduced its latest flagship globally, roughly a month before the expected release of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series.
While Qualcomm's latest flagship has been available in China since last month, the likes of the OnePlus 12 and Xiaomi 14 Pro have not received global releases. Instead, the Nubia Z60 Ultra has taken the reins, although Nubia will not begin selling it until December 29. Also, the company's FAQ reveals that pre-orders will not start shipping until January 16, 2024, possibly after Samsung presents the Galaxy S24 series. Likewise, ASUS will unveil the ROG Phone 8 before then, too.
Nonetheless, the Nubia Z60 Ultra will undercut its competitors thanks to a $599/£679/€679 starting price. However, the handset will start at £599/€599 when applying a 'NUBIA256' discount code in the UK and Eurozone. Alternatively, the top memory configuration is eligible for a £120/€120 discount in the same markets. For some reason, Nubia is only offering a $30 discount across all SKUs in the US. At MSRP, the Nubia Z60 Ultra costs as follows; please see our launch article for more hardware details.
- 8 GB RAM/256 GB storage - $599/£679/€679
- 12 GB RAM/256 GB storage - $649/£749/€749
- 16 GB RAM/512 GB storage - $779/£899/€899
