A few weeks have passed since MySmartPrice and @OnLeaks shared renders for the Galaxy A55. Since then, Samsung has released the Galaxy A25 5G, as well as the Galaxy A15 4G and Galaxy A15 5G. Although the launch date for the Galaxy A55 remains unknown for the time being, the Galaxy A54 successor has now been spotted on Geekbench under the name 'Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Full Android on S5E8845 ERD'.
As always, Geekbench does not provide too much information about the smartphone itself. In this case, the benchmarking tool reports that the Galaxy A55 has 8 GB of RAM, although we would not be surprised if Samsung offered other RAM configurations as well. For example, Samsung sells its predecessor with 4 GB, 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM options mated to 128 GB and 256 GB of storage.
Conversely, Geekbench has revealed numerous details about the Galaxy A55's chipset. As expected, the handset relies upon the S5E8845, a chipset that Samsung should eventually arrive as the Exynos 1480. Based on the various Geekbench listings available at this stage, it appears that the Exynos 1480 combines four performance CPU cores clocked at 2.75 GHz with four efficiency CPU cores restricted to 2.05 GHz. Additionally, Geekbench has confirmed that the Exynos 1480 utilises the Xclipse 530, a GPU that Samsung is rumoured to have based around AMD's RDNA 2 architecture.
