Samsung has now kicked off its next series of Galaxy A series smartphones. While its Galaxy S series remains on Galaxy S23 models, the company is already selling the Galaxy A25 5G in some markets, which is more of an evolved Galaxy A24 4G than a complete device overhaul.

Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy A25 5G, a successor to the Galaxy A24 4G (curr. $174.90 on Amazon) that was subjected to various pre-release leaks. As expected, the Galaxy A25 5G stays true to Samsung's recent design language, albeit with a few tweaks. For example, Samsung has set the device's hardware buttons within a raised area that is lacking on other recent Galaxy A and Galaxy S series smartphones.

Mirroring its predecessor, the Galaxy A25 5G utilises a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display that resolves at 2,340 x 1,080 pixels and with 1,000 nits peak brightness. However, Samsung has included a 30 Hz faster panel this time around that tops out at 120 Hz. Also, the 6.5-inch display sits within a small housing, which now measures 161 x 76.5 x 8.3 mm compared to 162.1 x 77.6 x 8.3 mm for the Galaxy A24 4G.

Additionally, Samsung has swapped the 6 nm MediaTek Helio G99 for a 5 nm Exynos 1280, but this change will deliver minimal performance improvements. Other elements between the Galaxy A24 5G and Galaxy A25 5G remain unchanged, including 50 MP primary, 13 MP front-facing, 8 MP ultra-wide-angle and 2 MP macro cameras, as well as a 5,000 mAh battery that recharges at 25 W. So far, Samsung has announced the Galaxy A25 5G in France so far, where it retails for €319 with 128 GB of storage. The company has not confirmed full availability yet, though.
