The Samsung Galaxy S24 series is expected to debut sometime in the middle of January, in a bit over a month. Details of the next-gen Samsung flagship phones have been revealed over the past few months, and a new leak now throws some more light on what to expect from the line-leading Galaxy S24 Ultra's camera setup.
As revealed by Korean outlet The Elec, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will come equipped with a 200 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 10 MP 10x zoom camera, a 50 MP 5x zoom camera, and a 10 MP selfie camera.
The most interesting bit here is, of course, the seeming presence of a 10x zoom lens, as previous reports from a few months ago indicated that Samsung would ditch the long-range lens in favor of a 5x zoom camera. Instead, however, it appears the S24 Ultra will maintain its predecessor's 10x zoom camera, but upgrade the 10 MP 3x zoom shooter to a 50 MP 5x zoom camera, while likely cropping into its 200 MP main camera for 3x zoom shots.
Going by the same report, both the vanilla Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24 Plus will sport identical camera hardware. Ergo, a 50 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, a 10 MP telephoto lens, and a 10 MP selfie camera. Interestingly, though, while the source report lists the Ultra with sensors from Samsung and Sony, the S24 and S24 Plus appear to also adopt hardware from CammSys and Power Logics, which isn't typical for Samsung devices.
