Moment unveils 75 mm macro lens for the main camera of the Apple iPhone 15 and Google Pixel 8
In September, Moment introduced a brand new lens system, the T Series, for the Apple iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Pro, which has now been enriched by the addition of another lens. The lens extends the 35mm-equivalent focal length of the iPhone 15's main camera to 75 millimetres, limiting the focus on subjects at a distance of 7 to 10 centimeters.
This is intended to give users the same depth of field as with the Moment Macro 10x Lens, but with both a significantly greater working distance to the subject and a slightly wider angle of view. Moment promises distortion of less than 1% and chromatic aberrations of less than one pixel. The 115 gram lens is said to produce sharp images right to the edges of the image.
An optional adapter makes the use of standard 67 millimeter filters with the macro lens possible. Officially, the lens is compatible with the Apple iPhone 13, the Google Pixel 7, the Samsung Galaxy S22 and all newer devices of the same model series, as long as the matching case is used; a universal adapter enables use with other smartphones.
Price and availability
The Moment 75 mm Macro Mobile Lens is now available in the manufacturer's online store for US$119. To attach the lens to the smartphone, either the adapter for the iPhone 15 can be used or a universal adapter costing US$29.99, which also enables use with other smartphones.
