Samsung Galaxy S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra tidbits: Production start, camera specs, HDR photos and more
At present, at least in China, many are already eagerly anticpating the Xiaomi 14. The Honor Magic6 has also completed its first official round in the form of an early announcement of some features, but internationally, Samsung's first smartphone of 2024 will probably have the most weight and it appears to be launching sooner than ever before. Rumor has it that the Unpacked launch event will take place on January 18, 2024, in California and thus right before Apple's eyes. Well-known Chinese leaker Ice Universe recently confirmed this on Chinese network Weibo, where he also announced that mass production would start much earlier than in previous years, which means that a Galaxy S24 launch in mid to late January may well be possible.

Galaxy S24+ with particularly thin display edges
Display bezels are a big topic this year, especially after Apple set the bar high with the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The Xiaomi 14 slightly undercuts Apple's current flagships and Samsung is also likely to move towards a borderless future, at least with the Galaxy S24+, after the Galaxy S23 FE in particular was criticized for its rather old-fashioned front appearance.
According to Ice Universe, the Galaxy S24 Plus will be equipped with just a 1.5mm frame around the Samsung M13 AMOLED panel, which is supposed to be exactly the same QHD panel as the Galaxy S24 Ultra as indicated in earlier leaks.
HDR photos in the picture gallery now possible on Samsung phones
The next interesting feature, which has been “confirmed” according to the leaker, is intended for all Galaxy S24 models and possibly also for the Galaxy S23 and others. Of course, it hasn't been officially announced yet, but after both Google and Qualcomm pressed foward with their Ultra HDR format and Dolby HDR photos, Samsung apparently could not help but join in the HDR photo game. Samsung users should also be able to display HDR photos with high dynamics in the Gallery app, provided they are taken in HDR. It remains to be seen whether another HDR format will be added or whether Samsung will simply use one from Qualcomm or Google.
Good news, it has been confirmed that Galaxy S24 series supports viewing HDR photos in photo albums (similar to Ultra HDR). It has finally come true.????

Galaxy S24 Ultra with new Sony IMX854 according to leaker
There has already been a lot of speculation and several very contradictory leaks about the camera specs of Samsung's 200 megapixel camera monster in 2024. This is apparently due to the fact that Samsung changed course in the middle of development and did not build on an earlier prototype, as a post from @Tech_Reve suggests. Accordingly, the current Galaxy S24 Ultra is equipped with the 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP2SX with a pixel size of 0.6 um, which is supposed to enable the cool "Zoom Anywhere" feature.
The 200 MP sensor, slightly adapted compared to the Galaxy S23 Ultra, is paired with a 3x telephoto, once again based on the 12 megapixel Sony IMX754 with 1.12 um pixel size and 12>10 megapixel crop. The Sony 12 megapixel IMX564 with 1.4 um pixel size is also an old acquaintance and is already installed in the Galaxy S23 Ultra. What's new is the 50 megapixel sensor behind a 5x optical telephoto, which according to this new info is now supposed to be a Sony IMX854 with 0.7 um pixel size. Whether this information is final, remains to be seen.
The initially planned camera configuration of the S24 Ultra was really good.

5x Telephoto - 50MP IMX875
10x Telephoto - 10MP IMX754+
Ultrawide - 12MP IMX564

However, for some reason, the IMX875 was canceled, and the IMX854 will be used.
The final…
