Samsung has now issued its first stable One UI 6 builds. For context, the updates arrive after an extensive beta testing phase that started in mid-August once Android 14 reached Platform Stability. As expected, One UI 6 has debuted on the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra first, with other flagships likely reaching comparable updates soon.
According to Samsung's changelog, One UI 6 is over a 3 GB download, making it substantially larger than its monthly updates. For reference, Samsung has begun rolling out the updates in Germany first and not Europe-wide. However, the company often issues milestone updates in batches, with other countries following in the next few days and weeks.
Seemingly, Samsung has based stable One UI 6 builds on One UI 6 Beta 9, which it issued a few days ago. Thus, the stable 'BWJM' update contains the October 2023 set of Android security patches, even though Google will publish their successors later this week. In short, One UI 6 is an evolution of One UI 5 rather than a complete overhaul. As such, Samsung has made minor visual tweaks while improving the overall user experience across its default app suite.
