Light Phone has begun teasing the release of a new limited phone. To recap, the company brought its inaugural model to Kickstarter in 2015 before releasing a second-generation model three years later. Now five years on from the Light Phone 2, Light Phone has collaborated with pgLang to deliver the 'pgLang for Light'.
For context, pgLang was founded in 2020 by Kendrick Lamar and filmmaker Dave Free. While the company focuses on music and visual media production, it expanded to footwear last year through a Converse collaboration. Incidentally, pgLang announced new pgLang/Converse footwear last week that will be available on November 2.
The same release date applies to the pgLang for Light, which will be limited to 250 units. So far, pgLang has only released a short teaser video in the run-up to Thursday's release, which we have embedded below. Currently, it remains to be seen how the pgLang for Light will differ from the current Light Phone 2, given their physical similarities. Neither party has commented on pricing yet either, although the Light Phone 2 remains available for US$299.
