Samsung Galaxy A15 5G: Specifications and pricing leak for future budget smartphone
Leaker @passionategeekz has shared alleged specifications of the Galaxy A15's 5G variant. Seemingly, Samsung plans to release 4G and 5G variants, which was also the case with this year's Galaxy A14. Thus, a recent Geekbench listing for the Samsung SM-A155F likely relates to the Galaxy A15 4G because of its MediaTek Helio G99 chipset.
By contrast, the Galaxy A15 5G is said to utilise the Dimensity 6100 Plus, a 6 nm-class chipset that MediaTek announced this summer. For reference, the Dimensity 6100 Plus features two ARM Cortex-A76 and six Cortex-A55 CPU cores, much like the older Dimensity 810. Supposedly, Samsung will pair the chipset with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 25 W wired charging, 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of expandable storage.
@passionategeekz also states that the handset has a 6.5-inch display that outputs at 1080p and 90 Hz. However, it remains to be seen whether this will be an OLED panel as earlier rumours suggested. Elsewhere, the Galaxy A15 5G is said to have 50 MP primary and 13 MP front-facing cameras, plus 5 MP and 2 MP auxiliary rear-facing sensors. Currently, Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy A15 5G in early 2024 for a US$149 retail price. For some reason, the handset is rumoured to ship with Android 13 rather than Android 14.
