Those who don't need a fancy high-end smartphone but are satisfied with something simpler will find a good and affordable smartphone in Samsung's portfolio with the Galaxy A15 4G. This summary of our test results will tell you why we like the smartphone.

At a price around 150 Euros (~$162, or ~$160 on Amazon), you can of course not expect a metal case. And the Samsung Galaxy A15 4G also doesn't include 5G, as its name already tells us.

But not every buyer needs that. At the same time, you don't have to forgo all attractive features if you purchase the smartphone for relatively little money. A bright AMOLED display with a 90 Hz refresh rate and FullHD resolution is included. Even though this isn't quite sufficient for HDR contents, the contents are displayed very attractively and with accurate colors.

Not only that, but an ultrawide angle camera is now also included in one of Samsung's most affordable smartphones. But there is one catch: The angle isn't as wide as in many other smartphones, so its field of view is smaller.

As in previous models, you have to buy the charger separately for the Galaxy A15 4G, but the smartphone also works with all the other chargers from various manufacturers that we tested. And the battery life is definitely usable: For example, you can surf for 14:45 hours in the WLAN or watch movies from your internal storage for more than 24 hours.

In terms of software, Samsung has preinstalled Android 14 and also offers Widevine L1, allowing you to watch streaming contents in HD resolution. The promised update period is also impressive: The manufacturer promises quarterly updates until 2029 and new operating system versions up to Android 18. So all is good, right? Not quite, since the promised update period is qualified by the addition of the words "up to," so the whole extent of the time frame isn't really guaranteed.

The performance of the Galaxy A15 LTE is fairly convincing. While there are also some faster smartphones even in this price class, it is sufficient for a place in the middle of the field of similarly priced comparison devices. A few stutters cannot be ruled out completely, and you have to expect some longer load times in the Internet from time to time. On the other hand, the storage is very fast, so that copying tasks will complete fairly quickly.
