The Samsung Galaxy A15 has now surfaced on Geekbench, a few days after a leaker outlined various details about the upcoming handset. Not only does Geekbwnch appear to confirm which chipset underpins the Galaxy A14 successor, but it also reveals its launch Android version and minimum RAM configuration.

Samsung is rumoured to be a few months away from refreshing its entry-level Galaxy A series handset. Currently, the company sells two Galaxy A14 variants distinguished by 4G and 5G connectivity. However, the latter is also available with two SoC choices, with some markets receiving the Exynos 1330 and the Dimensity 700 for others.

Based on a new Geekbench listing, Samsung has developed the Galaxy A14 5G's successor with the Dimensity 6100 Plus, which MediaTek announced in July. Although the Dimensity 6100 Plus is relatively new, it shares many features with the Dimensity 810, like a pair of ARM Cortex-A76 performance cores and six Cortex-A55 cores that are clocked lower than their Cortex-A76 counterparts. Specifically, Geekbench reports a 200 MHz clock speed difference between the two clusters, with MediaTek allowing the chipset's two Cortex-A76 cores to boost to 2.2 GHz.

Additionally, Samsung will complement the Dimensity 6100 Plus with 4 GB of RAM, which is likely the device's lowest RAM configuration. If its predecessor is anything to go by, then Samsung will offer the Galaxy A15 5G with 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM options tied to higher storage combinations. Samsung will pre-install Android 14 too, presumably based on One UI 6.
